Prerequisites

      • Students should be women above the age of 17.
      • ARA 1A or the ability to read Arabic Quranic script

Placement:

If you are unsure of your level, you may complete an assessment with a tajwīd instructor. Based on that, you will receive a recommendation on the best course for your level inshallah.

Summary: A complete reading and understanding of the last twenty pages of the Holy Quran, Juzuʾ ʿAmma. This is a two-part course:

    1. Students will gain an understanding of the surahs within Juzuʾ ʿAmma during weekly online classes with Anse Dahlia.
    2. Each student will be paired with a recitation teacher, either online or locally, with whom she will work one-on-one. This part of the course will be complete when the student has read through Juzuʾ ʿAmma to the standardized and acceptable level that is a preparation for application of tajwīd rules in level two.

Course Requirements: Students are expected to attend the weekly online lectures, complete one or more weekly assignments, read the assigned material, complete a reading of Juzuʾ ʿAmma with an assigned recitation teacher, and review and sit for a final exam.

Course Requirements: Students are expected to attend the weekly online lectures, complete one or more weekly assignments, read the assigned material, complete a reading of Juzu' 'Amma with an assigned tajwīd instructor, and review and sit for a final exam.

  1. Students will gain an understanding of the rules of tajwīd (proper pronunciation of the Holy Quran) during weekly online sessions with Anse Ola.
  2. Each student will be paired with a certified tajwīd teacher, either online or locally, with whom she will work one-on-one. This part of the course will be complete when the student has read through Juzuʾ ʿAmma with her assigned tajwīd teacher, having demonstrated the ability to apply the rules of tajwīd to the standardized and acceptable level. Upon completion, advanced students may begin a recitation of Juzuʾ Tabārak.

Course Requirements: Students are expected to attend the weekly online lectures, complete one or more weekly assignments, read the assigned material, complete a reading of Juzu' 'Amma, and review and sit for a final exam.

Summary: In the Khitma Project, students will recite the Holy Quran from Surat al-Fāṭiḥa to Surat al-Nās to their assigned tajwīd instructors, as a preparation and foundation for beginning with memorization. This is a two-part course: 

  1. Students will attend a weekly online session with Anse Eamaan to follow up on their progress and learn about the wonders of the Holy Quran. Practical assignments will be given to solidify the knowledge of tajwīd rules taken in level 2,
  2. Each student will be paired with a certified tajwīd teacher, either online or locally, with whom she will work one-on-one. This part of the course will be complete when the student has read through the Holy Quran from cover to cover with her assigned tajwīd teacher, having demonstrated the ability to apply the rules of tajwīd to the standardized and acceptable level.

Course Requirements: Students are expected to attend the weekly online lectures and complete a reading of the Holy Quran. They must re-register in the course every term until it is complete.

  2. Each student will be paired with a certified tajwīd teacher, either online or locally, with whom she will work one-on-one. This part of the course will be complete when the student has recited the amount agreed upon at the start of the term, having demonstrated the ability to apply the rules of tajwīd to the standardized and acceptable level.

Course Requirements: Students are expected to attend the weekly online lectures and memorize and recite to an assigned tajwīd teacher.
