• Students should be women above the age of 17.
• ARA 1A or the ability to read Arabic Quranic script

Summary: A complete reading and understanding of the last twenty pages of the Holy Quran, Juzuʾ ʿAmma. This is a two-part course:

1. Students will gain an understanding of the surahs within Juzuʾ ʿAmma during weekly online classes with Anse Dahlia.
2. Each student will be paired with a recitation teacher, either online or locally, with whom she will work one-on-one. This part of the course will be complete when the student has read through Juzuʾ ʿAmma to the standardized and acceptable level that is a preparation for application of tajwīd rules in level two.

Course Requirements: Students are expected to attend the weekly online lectures, complete one or more weekly assignments, read the assigned material, recite the assigned amount with a Ribaat tajwid teacher, and review and sit for a mid term and a final exam.

• A translation of the Holy Quran. Recommended: The Gracious Qur'an translation by Ahmad Zaki Hammad
• Required: Juzu' 'Amma (Color coded for tajwid) or a medium to large-sized Holy Quran in Arabic for the recitation portion. (Suggested: Mus-haf al-Tajwid, color coded for tajwid)

### Tajwid Part 1: Letters & Phonetics - Fall 2018

• Students enrolling in this course must be able to decode and read Arabic text comfortably (ARA 100 and ARA 1A). Understanding of Arabic is beneficial but not required.

This part of the course will be complete when the student has read through Juzuʾ ʿAmma with her assigned tajwīd instructor, having demonstrated the ability to pronounce each letter to the standardized and acceptable level.

Summary: Building upon concepts taken in QUR 201, students will complete the study of the rules of tajwīd,accompanied by an instructor-led recitation of the second half of Juzuʾ ʿAmma. This is a two-part course:

1. Students will gain an understanding of the rules of tajwīd (proper pronunciation of the Holy Quran) during weekly online sessions with Anse Ola.
2. Each student will be paired with a certified tajwīd teacher, either online or locally, with whom she will work one-on-one. This part of the course will be complete when the student has read through Juzuʾ ʿAmma with her assigned tajwīd teacher, having demonstrated the ability to apply the rules of tajwīd to the standardized and acceptable level. Upon completion, advanced students may begin a recitation of Juzuʾ Tabārak.

Course Requirements: Students are expected to attend the weekly online lectures, complete one or more weekly assignments, read the assigned material, recite the assigned amount with a Ribaat tajwid teacher, and review and sit for a mid term and a final exam.

1. Students will attend a weekly online session with Anse Eamaan to follow up on their progress and learn about the wonders of the Holy Quran. Practical assignments will be given to solidify the knowledge of tajwīd rules taken in level 2,
2. Each student will be paired with a certified tajwīd teacher, either online or locally, with whom she will work one-on-one. This part of the course will be complete when the student has read through the Holy Quran from cover to cover with her assigned tajwīd teacher, having demonstrated the ability to apply the rules of tajwīd to the standardized and acceptable level.

1. Students will attend a weekly online session with Anse Saadia to follow up on their progress and receive inspirations and tips on memorizing the Holy Quran, achieving effective memorization, and overcoming hurdles.
2. Each student will be paired with a certified tajwīd teacher, either online or locally, with whom she will work one-on-one. This part of the course will be complete when the student has recited the amount agreed upon at the start of the term, having demonstrated the ability to apply the rules of tajwīd to the standardized and acceptable level.

### Quran Ijazah Program - Fall 2018

• QUR 202: "Tajwid Part 2: Rules & the Rhythm of Recitation"
• QUR 301: "Khitmah Project"
• Students enrolling in this course must be able to decode and read Arabic text comfortably (ARA 100, ARA 1A, and ARA 1B). Some understanding of Arabic is recommended to begin the Ijazah Program.
• Students enrolling in this program must have a firm understanding of the rules of tajwīd and will be required to complete an oral assessment.

Placement:

Summary: The ijazah in the Holy Quran is a certification that recognizes that the bearer has recited the Holy Quran from start to finish with complete application of the rules of tajwid and authorizes its bearer to teach and pass on the same ijazah in turn. Through this program students will work individually with their instructors to memorize and recite the Holy Quran from start to finish.

Course Requirements: Students are expected to be present at scheduled meeting times and recite the assigned amount with a Ribaat tajwid teacher. While students will begin this journey online (through Skype, FaceTime, or other apps), they will be required to travel periodically to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to complete the final stages of recitation in person.

1- Application form: Complete the application form below.

2- Written tajwid assessment: This requirement can be waived if students have:

• completed QUR 201 and 202
• OR can provide proof of course completion of a tajwid course from another institution

3- Oral tajwid assessment: After submitting the application, applicants will be contacted to schedule this assessment.

4- Registration: Students whose applications are approved will be able to register and make the payment for the program.
