Ribaat Tajwid Program
Program Description:
The Ribaat Tajwīd Program enables students to become proficient in recitation of the Holy Quran, with complete understanding and application of the rules of tajwīd. The program takes students from the beginner level to fluency in recitation, and from there onto a journey of memorization and certification (ijāzah) in recitation of the Holy Quran. The end goal is to produce students who are able to read and teach the Holy Quran with proficiency and expertise.
Tajwīd courses each consist of two components. This two-tiered approach ensures that students have a strong foundation in the theory of tajwīd upon which to build the skills necessary for practical application and correct recitation of the Holy Quran.
1. Theory: The theory and rules of tajwīd are taught once a week in a group online session, to study the types of letters, points of articulation, and rules of recitation (tajwīd ).
2. Practice: In Level 2 and above, students are also paired with a tajwīd teacher, who they meet for additional sessions and work with in small groups or one-on-one to recite and apply the rules of tajwīd. These sessions are conducted online, using Zoom, Whatsapp call, Facetime, or other online apps.
Certification:
A specific number of tajwīd courses are required for each Ribaat certification program. To earn credit for a course as part of a certification program, students must complete both the exams and the recitation components and receive a passing grade of 60% or above.
Courses may also be taken independently for students not seeking certification.
For inquiries, contact registration@rabata.org.
Placement:
New students in the Ribaat Tajwīd Program should complete an assessment with a tajwīd assessor. Based on that, they will receive a recommendation on the best course to start with. To arrange an appointment, kindly email tajwid.assess@rabata.org, and we will be in touch with you as soon as possible inshallah.
Arabic requirements may be waived upon submitting a placement test. The placement test can be found on the Ribaat Registration page register.rabata.org.
