Offered: Part 1 of this course is offered in the Fall term of each year, and Part 2 is offered in the Spring. Completion of Part 1 is recommended but not required to enroll in Part 2.

Summary: 

An in-depth study of the sixty companions discussed in the book Stars in the Prophet’s Orbit. Students will learn their stories, draw conclusions about Islamic precepts from their lives, understand their relationship to the Prophet (s), and derive personal lessons from their lives. Students will apply same to an additional companion upon whom research will be done.

The first thirty companions of this text are covered in Part 1 of the course, and the second thirty are covered in Part 2. It is not required to complete part 1 before part 2.

Course Requirements: Students are expected to attend the weekly online lectures, complete one or more weekly assignments, read the assigned material, write one research paper, and review and sit for a final exam.

Registration Fee: Non-refundable, non-transferable

Students will have access to course forums, recordings, and files until the first day of the next term.

$100.00 (not including the cost of the course materials)

$20.00 late registration fee after September 7th (if seats are available)

Additional $5.00 auditing fee.

Course Description: A quick and fun introduction to Shafi'i fiqh for the beginner, this course will go over the main rules of worship, covering purification (ṭahāra), prayer (ṣalāh), and fasting (ṣawm).

Course Requirements: Students are expected to attend the weekly online lectures, complete one or more weekly assignments, read the assigned material, write one term project and review and sit for a final exam.

This is an online course so students will need:

  1. Access to internet with an internet speed of at least 2 Mbps recommended for best performance. 
  2. Headphones, camera and microphone may be required for in-class participation. 
  3. To access the live class, students will need a computer, smartphone, or tablet/iPad with the AdobeConnect app. 
  4. To access recordings of the sessions on a smart device, students may need to install the Puffin or Photon browser.

Summary: A 7-step program that provides enrichment, guidance, and direction for Muslim women. Each of the seven steps will help attendees attain true success, true falah, in both worlds. 

An expansion on the Falah 7 Steps to Success Workshop, this course will provide practical exercises, assignments, and carefully designed activities that will help students to put the principles into practice in their daily lives.
